Scrap It Girl {Favorite Thing Friday: Favorite Fall Project}

Good morning! Today's Scrap It Girls Favorite Thing Friday is your Favorite Fall Project. Mine is a fall layout and I love how it turned out! I used Moxxie's new fall line- Autumn Glory. This line is absolutely gorgeous and the colors are so rich. This is my current favorite fall line!
Seriously, I don't believe pictures do this line justice. You definitely need to get your hands on this line. Here is my layout. I used some pictures of my second daughter when she was close to 18 months old (she's now 10 years old! Where did the time go!?) playing out in the leaves I was raking.
I cut about a quarter inch off the top and side of one sheet and layered on another. Did some fussy cutting of the flowers and layered them using 3D-Dots over the ones that were there. Also did some inking with Tim Holtz Vintage Photo Distressing Ink around the edges of the flowers to make them "pop" a bit more.
I used the cardstock stickers that coordinate with the paper, for the title and the banners. Punched a border using a Martha Stewart punch. I love how this layout turned out. Go, stop by Scrap It Girl's blog and see some other favorites!
Thanks for stopping by! :)

Moxxie {Love}

Good Morning! I have another layout to share with you! I used Moxxie's line Autumn Glory on a previous layout and totally fell in love with the gorgeous line. If you still haven't looked at it please take a minute to check it out HERE. Here is my layout.
I just love the elegance of this line. I cut off a quarter inch off the top and side of the top sheet, did some inking with Tim Holtz Vintage Photo Distressing ink around the edges and layered it on top of a sheet of Doodlebug cardstock. I used some other sheets from the same line to layer the picture and create the side banners along with embossing and sanding down one the layers under the picture. Here's some close up's of some the embellishments and details.
For my journaling tag I used some 3D-Dots along the edges of the picture to pop it up and create a little slotted area for my tag to slide into.
Thanks so much for stopping by! :)

Moxxie {Brainiac}

How are you doing? Have you seen Moxxie's fun line called Brainiac?
 Just in case you haven't here, take a look at it....
Isn't it fun!? I LOVE this line! I have so much fun with it! I did a fun layout of my oldest daughter. I don't exactly know what the fascination with big nerdy glasses is, but she just HAD to have some (sans prescription) to wear. I have to admit she looks dang cute with them. ;)
I love the colors of this line! That owl is pretty cute too! I did a few ink splatters using Heidi Swapp Color shine ink- Mustard & Citron.
I also used a Martha Stewart punch a border on the orange piece. And added a few Freckled Fawn Enamel Dew Drop Stickers. I love enamel dots!
I added some of the stickers from the Brainiac line.
I love how fun and easy this line is to work with. Thanks for stopping by! :)

Moxxie {Autumn Glory Cards & Blog Hop}

Good morning! Fall is in full swing here. The leaves have all changed their colors and are falling off. I love walking through them and hearing them crunch under my feat. It's just gorgeous around here. I love this time of year. I have some fall cards and a fun blog hop with a great giveaway to share with you today! I want to start by showing you my cards! :)
I really love how Moxxie's line of Autumn Glory really captures fall. On my Thank You card I used a Martha Stewart punch, some Bazzil Basics Paper Leaves, ribbon and a SU! stamp for the sentiment.
On this one I did a bit of fussy cutting that I "popped" up with some 3D-dots to add a little dimension. I also did some distressing and tied it off with some linen thread.
For the third card I used an embossing folder and sanded it down along with some distressing along the edges. I fussy cut around some flowers from the sheet Bountiful Bouquet and inked up the edges. Then layered them up with 3D-dots to give it some dimension.
I really love how all three cards turned out.

And of course for the blog hop info and like I said, there is a PRIZE involved!

Nuts About Sketches {Max the Monkey & Me}

Happy Monday! I know, I know a bit of an oxymoron but we have to be optimistic around here, right!? ;) lol Especially when I have a fun new sketch to share with you!
It's Nuts About Sketches new sketch!! Here's my take on it.
It was a fun sketch to work with. It's really rare that I pull out the sewing machine but I really wanted to use it on this layout. I cut down my designer sheet by a quarter inch on the side and top. Did a bit of distressing on all sides and then layered it onto a sheet of black cardstock, then did a straight stitch all around. Here's some close up pictures of some of the embellishments...
The banner was a straight strip that I cut apart to be able to follow the curve of the circle picture. I love how she did the cute banners on the sketch, definitely not something I would normally do but LOVE the look of it. Make sure to go over to Nuts About Sketches and check out the sketch!

Scrap It Girl {Mixed Media Thank You card & new challenge}

Happy November 1st! It's time for a Scrap It Girl monthly challenge! This one is fun one! For this challenge we challenge you to use mixed media such a paints, water colors or gelatos. Here's a card I made using gelatos & gessso.

I started out out with a 4.25" x 5.5" card base and smeared some gesso around on the card. I ran an orange gelato over SU! French Script and stamped it into the gesso. I love the effect, the script stands out a bit more because of the orange. After the gesso dried I spritzed it with some Heidi Swapp Gold Color Shine. For the leaf I applied two different colors directly on the stamp I used a dark red watercolor crayon on half of it and then a overlapped just a bit of a gold gelato. Then I used a brush dipped in some water to go over the crayon and gelato and tried to mix the colors a bit. Next I stamped it on some cream cardstock. I used the same SU! French Script stamp that I stamped on the gesso to stamp over the leaf. I really love how beautiful it came out.  The picture really doesn't do it justice. The gold on the leaf from the gelato and the gold from color shine really make this card sparkle.
Being honest, I was really nervous doing this challenge because, while I do own these different mediums I just haven't made the time to play with them much. So I really enjoy the extra challenge to get me using them more. :)

Now make sure to head over to Scrap It Girl and join us for the challenge! Remember you are welcome to link up to two projects and they must contain paints, water colors or gelatos. We LOVE to see everyone's fun projects. Make sure to challenge yourself to try new things! :)
Thanks for stopping by! :)
