Sketches in Thyme {Believe in You}

Good morning! I have a Sketches in Thyme sketch to share with you today.
I don't know if about you but I really struggle with taking pictures of myself and making sure I get pictures of me in with the kids. I have to keep reminding myself that it's not for me, it's for them. How often do you scrap yourself?

Good morning! The holiday's are upon us and I hope you are all enjoying them.
I had so much fun with this layout! I used such a fun sketch from The Scraproom.
These pictures of my middle daughter were perfect!

 I really love creating little clusters of embellishments.

Stitched with LOVE

Does anyone still do quilting? I did with my mom when I was younger and I have tried to teach my daughters. This layout is of my 2nd daughter do some quilting on a quilt for herself. She was having so much fun to begin with but by the end she was ready to be done! lol

For this layout I used a sketch from My Creative Sketches along with a challenge from Scrapbook Circle. The challenge at Scrapbook Circle is to include a heart that is stitched in some way on your layout.
For this one I just had to pull out my Sew Easy supplies for this one. The heart piercer was perfect! I did it across a piece of vellum and then stitched it up. I layered that piece of vellum over some pink cardstock that I had used a border punch on.
 Then for the title I used a mix of Alpha's and did some faux stitching around the "Stitched" and then outlined the other two words.
 I LOVE adding puffy stickers! They add great dimension to your pages.
 Next I added some washi tape behind my picture. When I placed a strip of washi tape down I noticed it was very light and got lost in that black striped paper. To remedy that I matched up and layered the washi tape about 3x's so it would really show up better. I like how it adds a pop of color next to the picture.

Thanks for stopping by! Have a scrappy day! :)

Dance Your {HEART} Out

How often do you do two page layouts? I myself don't do them very often, but they sure are nice you have several pictures of one event. This layout is of another dance performance by my second daughter's combo dance group. They dance to a mix of Call Me Maybe and Pay Phone. They looked so good in their sparkly oufits and did a fantastic job on the dance. For this layout I used another sketch from Sketches in Thyme, they really have some fun ones to play with!
I used some fun little enamel stars here, they are just adorable!
 Then for the title I used some glittered Thickers and a puffy heart along with some smaller alphas.
  I did do a few things different from the original sketch on the left side they had 4 pictures, but since I didn't have four pictures I chose to use the area for a fun quote an my journaling. That's the best part about sketches, you can change them up to what works best for you!
Thanks for stopping by! Have a scrappy day! :)

Turbulence

Another fun layout to share with you today! This one is of my oldest daughter performing with her Hip-Hop dance group. They danced to a song called 'Turbulence'. They did such an amazing job! I used a fun sketch from Sketches in Thyme for this layout.
 I used a sheet of black cardstock for my base and did some paper tearing for the next layer. Then for the 3rd layer I did some faux stitching around the border and added some fun enamel dots in the corner.
 I had fun with the title! Thought it was rather fitting given the name. :) I really enjoy doing fun titles.
 Then on my journaling card I add some fun and very cute little sprinkles! I LOVE that glitter washi tape. Everything in life should have a little sparkle to it in my opinion. ;)
Thanks for stopping by! Have a scrappy day! :)

Nuts About Sketches {Snowflakes are... layout}

Good morning! Hope everyone had a great weekend! Nuts About Sketches has a really fun two page layout sketch.
I only used the left side for my layout. As I was going through my stuff I came across an older line from Fancy Pants that I absolutely love and thought it was perfect for my pictures! I love when everything comes together perfectly! ;)
I started out by inking up the edges of my paper and my pictures. I adhered my pictures and added some 3D-Dots to the middle picture to add some dimension to the layout. Next I added a cute heart sticker from the sticker sheet and and layered another sticker on top of the heart using some more 3D-dots and some brads on ends.
I then cut along the curves on another sheet and did some inking and distressing on them. Using it for my title.
Now for my favorite part! I added some Crystal Stickles to the snowflakes to make them shine.  Then I did some paper piercing and stitching into circles. Love how cute they turned out. :)
Make sure to check out the other layouts created by the other Nuts About Sketches design team members! Always great inspiration!

Nuts About Sketches {Snow Play}

Good morning! How was everyone's weekend? Mine was pretty good, I was able to get caught up on a few crafty projects.I even got a chance to play with Nuts About Sketches new sketch.
It was definitely a fun 2 page layout! I love how she adds such fun elements to her sketches, they always challenge me to try something new. :) Here's my take on the sketch.
I've been looking for the perfect sketch to use all these pictures on. My problem was being able to find a sketch that I could use all 7 pictures on. I used Fancy Pants Timbergrove line. I did quite a bit of inking around edges using Tim Holtz Vintage Photo Distress ink along with just distressing the edges. Here's a few close up's of some of the embellishments.
On this one I did some dry embossing using a Cuttlebug embossing folder Snowflakes just right along the edge of the vellum and then inked up the embossed image to make it stand out a bit more.
Make sure you head over to Nuts About Sketches and see some different takes on the same sketch.
Thanks so much for stopping by. :)

Nuts About Sketches {The Frosty Chill of a Winter's Day}

How is everyone's summer going? I can't believe we are into July already! It has been HOT! So for this new Nuts About Sketches sketch I dug around and found some fun snow pictures! I'm not a fan of all the coldness during the winter but looking through these pictures sure helped take my mind off the heat for a bit! In these pictures I had taken my girls tubing. They had a blast! We even lost a boot a time two along the way but we had nothing but laughs and giggles the whole time.
For this layout I used Fancy Pants TimberGrove collection. I LOVE this line! I used a sheet of kraft cardstock for the base. I also did some inking around the edges of everything including my photos with some Tim Holtz ink. Here's a few close ups of the layout.

I even ran a few elements through the crimper. They really added some texture to the layout.
Doesn't this layout take your mind off the heat at least for a minute a two? ;) Thanks for stopping by! Make sure you head over to Nuts About Sketches and check out the actual sketch and see the other designers take on it!

You Make My Heart So So So Very Happy

This month Scrap It Girl's challenge this month is Tag's or Bags! I thought that sounded so fun that I knew I wanted to incorporate both into my layout! I love this picture of my second daughter. She was only 2 years old and we had were having a blast playing in the leaves! That was 8 years ago! Where does the time go!? I love that I at least have these sweet pictures of my little girl. The best part is the cute little sweater she is wearing, that sweater was my sweater! I wore that sweater when my parents immigrated from Mexico to the United States when I was only 11 months old!
Now onto the layout. I used Fancy Pants Happy Go Lucky collection that I just picked up at the Scrapbook Expo in UT (and loved every second of it!). I LOVE this line! It even a some decorative bags & tags with it that I was able to use. I love the tags! They are perfect to do a bit of journaling on and tell the story of my cute little sweater. ;) I went through and inked up the edges with Tim Holtz Distress Ink Vintage Photo. Here are a few close ups of some of the embellishments.

Now head on over to Scrap It Girl and join in the fun! She always has some great prizes and you've definitely want to see all the other fun stuff the rest of the design team has put together! I love the versatility in this fun group of ladies!

I wasn't Kissing Him... I was Whispering into His Mouth

Paper Bakery is having a sketch challenge and I decided to give it a try. Here's the sketch. If you want to see challenge click here Sketch Challenge, there's still time to enter! :)

Here's my take of the sketch.

I used Fancy Pants line- "What a Wonderful Day". Absolutely LOVE it! The colors are amazing! I used my Silhouette to cut out the words 'Kissing' and 'Whispering'. Here's a closer look at it...
 I came across the quote- "I wasn't Kissing him... I was Whispering into his mouth", years ago and have had it written on a post note for just the right picture ;) I'm not sure who said it, but it has been one of my favorites. Do any of you ever do that? Hear a quote and write it down for a use later? Some day I'll collect them all into a notebook.
