Nuts About Sketches {Amazingly Adorable}

Good morning! I have to apologize for being MIA this last week. I got hit with a horrible flu bug that laid me up all week! But I'm happy to report I'm on the mend!

This was my last sketch as a Nuts About Sketches design team member. I have to say it makes me a bit sad! I'm sure going to miss being on her team. But don't fret! It doesn't mean she won't do sketches any more, Shawn says she will still post new sketches periodically!
The sketch was so much fun! It had some great layers.
This little girl of mine is Amazingly Adorable! She has the sweetest personality! She is such a sweet and caring little girl. My base for this layout is a sheet of cardstock and then I started layering around the edges. I used some designer paper and cardstock for some of the layering but I also decided to use Washi tape. Washi tape comes in all different widths, so on some of them I lined them up the best I could and made them twice as wide. I did my faux stitching in different colors all around my layout to really add more color and interest to it. As for the title I just used some 3D foam dots to "pop" it up and make it stand out a bit more on the layout.
I love all two flair buttons I found, they just seemed perfect for this layout and I'm in LOVE with enamel dots! They are so cute and fun to play with! here's some close up's of all the washi tape and embellishments. Enjoy! :)
Don't forget to make a stop over at Nuts About Sketches to see the sketch and to see the teams last take on it! I promise you won't be disappointed! Great talent there. I loved working with such amazing women. :)

Nuts About Sketches {Silly Faces}

Good morning! Nuts About Sketches new sketch is up and it's a fun one!
This is my youngest daughter playing in the tub when she was about 8 months old. She has always been one to pull the funniest faces! I love them!
I cut down my designer paper by 1/2" on the side and top so it would give me a 1/4" cardstock frame all around. Lately, this has been my go to. Love the look of it. I then did a bit of ripping for the side pieces up on the top right and on the left side. Did you know that if you tear AWAY from you the core of the paper will be visible on the back side but if you tear TOWARDS you the core is visible on the front. Just a little tearing tid bit. ;)

I went around and inked up the the edges with some Tim Holtz Pumice Stone Distress Ink and traced the edges of the SILLY in my title with black pen to make it "pop" a little.

I also did a little of bit of stitching on this layout. Love adding just little bits for texture on my layouts.
Here's a couple more close up of some the fun embellishments.

Nuts About Sketches {Made from Scratch!}

Good morning! How was your weekend? I had a great scrappy weekend and have got some fun layouts done. This one I did using this Nuts About Sketches sketch. I chose to only do the left side of the sketch, Yes! You can totally do that! ;)
As I dug through some old pictures I found some that would work perfectly with this sketch. They are pictures of one of my youngest sisters with my youngest daughter baking up a batch of No Bake Cookies. Although, I think there was a whole lot more tasting than actual baking! lol
I used one of Moxxie's lines called Bake Shoppe. Love the cute double sided punch out embellishments and the cardstock stickers that coordinate with this line. I sponged on some Tim Holtz Vintage Photo distress ink around the edges of all my paper and on the embellishments.

I created this banner from some of the other papers in this line and strung it with some baker's twine.
Make sure you visit Nut's About Sketches blog and check out some more amazing samples the DT members created using that this same sketch!

Nuts About Sketches {Daddy's Girl}

Good morning! Who caught the Superbowl game? We didn't. I had high hopes of getting sooo much crafting done and did not. BUT I did get a layout done with Nuts About Sketches new sketch. I have a picture of my youngest and her daddy when she was a few months old. It's one of my favorites of these two.
Here's a few close up's of it. For the title I used some American Craft Glitter Thickers and some Pink Paislee alphabet stickers. The little wooden doily was one I had from one of my Scraptastic Kits. LOVE it!
Love the look of cute little banners! Banner are one of my favorite embellishments right now, right along with enamel dots. Aren't those cute hearts from Lily Bee Designs adorable!
I love this washi tape with the cute little elephants. Just so cute.

Nuts About Sketches {Dance to the Tune of Your Heart}

Time for a new sketch from Nuts About Sketches! Such a fun one too!
I was out taking some Senior Pictures for a friend and my oldest daughter had come along to help me out. We were taking a pause from all the clicking and posing when I happened to look over to see where my daughter was. She was up on a hill side dancing around. I loved how she looked so graceful and loved the beautiful blue sky that was her background. It was such a perfect moment to capture.
I used a sheet from Fancy Pants- What a Wonderful Day, cut it down and framed it with some darker gray cardstock. Then for the heart I cut it out from another sheet in that same line and then ran it through my crimper. I love the texture it adds to my layout. I also cut out the word "Dance" on my Silhouette twice, once on gray cardstock and again on a lighter yellow then layered and off set them a bit. Then used some red foil Thickers for my word "heart".
Here's some close ups of some of the embellishments. Love how the washi tape turned out. :)

Nuts About Sketches {Snowflakes are... layout}

Good morning! Hope everyone had a great weekend! Nuts About Sketches has a really fun two page layout sketch.
I only used the left side for my layout. As I was going through my stuff I came across an older line from Fancy Pants that I absolutely love and thought it was perfect for my pictures! I love when everything comes together perfectly! ;)
I started out by inking up the edges of my paper and my pictures. I adhered my pictures and added some 3D-Dots to the middle picture to add some dimension to the layout. Next I added a cute heart sticker from the sticker sheet and and layered another sticker on top of the heart using some more 3D-dots and some brads on ends.
I then cut along the curves on another sheet and did some inking and distressing on them. Using it for my title.
Now for my favorite part! I added some Crystal Stickles to the snowflakes to make them shine.  Then I did some paper piercing and stitching into circles. Love how cute they turned out. :)
Make sure to check out the other layouts created by the other Nuts About Sketches design team members! Always great inspiration!

Nuts About Sketches {Max the Monkey & Me}

Happy Monday! I know, I know a bit of an oxymoron but we have to be optimistic around here, right!? ;) lol Especially when I have a fun new sketch to share with you!
It's Nuts About Sketches new sketch!! Here's my take on it.
It was a fun sketch to work with. It's really rare that I pull out the sewing machine but I really wanted to use it on this layout. I cut down my designer sheet by a quarter inch on the side and top. Did a bit of distressing on all sides and then layered it onto a sheet of black cardstock, then did a straight stitch all around. Here's some close up pictures of some of the embellishments...
The banner was a straight strip that I cut apart to be able to follow the curve of the circle picture. I love how she did the cute banners on the sketch, definitely not something I would normally do but LOVE the look of it. Make sure to go over to Nuts About Sketches and check out the sketch!

Nuts About Sketches {Snow Play}

Good morning! How was everyone's weekend? Mine was pretty good, I was able to get caught up on a few crafty projects.I even got a chance to play with Nuts About Sketches new sketch.
It was definitely a fun 2 page layout! I love how she adds such fun elements to her sketches, they always challenge me to try something new. :) Here's my take on the sketch.
I've been looking for the perfect sketch to use all these pictures on. My problem was being able to find a sketch that I could use all 7 pictures on. I used Fancy Pants Timbergrove line. I did quite a bit of inking around edges using Tim Holtz Vintage Photo Distress ink along with just distressing the edges. Here's a few close up's of some of the embellishments.
On this one I did some dry embossing using a Cuttlebug embossing folder Snowflakes just right along the edge of the vellum and then inked up the embossed image to make it stand out a bit more.
Make sure you head over to Nuts About Sketches and see some different takes on the same sketch.
Thanks so much for stopping by. :)

Nuts About Sketches {Too Cute to Spook}

I absolutely LOVE the month of October! Fall is gorgeous where I live, with all the leaves changing and cooler temperatures. An added bonus to this time of year is all the yummy pumpkin flavored goodies that come out! Mmm.... Then it only gets better with Halloween! I have so much with my girls, I love dressing them up! As I was going through some old pictures I found some back from Halloween of 2005!
They were perfect for Nuts About Sketches new double layout sketch.
I used some fun little embellies and splattered some Heidi Swapp Black Velvet Color Shine through out my layout along with inking the edges with Tim Holtz Pumice Stone Distress Ink.
Here's some close up's of the layout.

Nuts About Sketches {Together, Me & My Sister}

Good morning! Hope everyone had a great weekend! Did you get any crafting done? I put together a fun layout using Nuts About Sketches sketch. I love Shawn's sketches! They are always so much fun and so easy to read. Make sure to swing by her blog and take a look around, she has her past sketches organized by the number of pictures on a sketch. :) Here's this week's sketch...
I rotated the sketch counter clockwise to make it work with the photos I had on hand. Don't be afraid to change things up a bit to make it work for you. :)
These two became great friends from day one! I love how well they usually got along, they are sisters after all! ;) I used Scraptastic Club kit April 2014 Worth Wondering on this layout. I started out with the chevron sheet and inked around the edges using Tim Holtz Distressing Ink Pumice Stone and did ink spots all over
I also did some inking around the wood veneer.
I love the cork butterflies, they are just so cute!
Make sure to head over to Nuts About Sketches for more inspiration on this awesome sketch!
