Scrap With Us {Merry Christmas Layout & Challenge}

Good morning! It's been sooooo cold around here! Perfect weather for scrapbooking and staying in with some hot chocolate and lots of fun scrapbooking supplies. So to give you a little extra incentive to get scrapbooking I have a fun challenge (actually a total of 4 challenges!) for you over at Scrap With Us along with an awesome prize! Read more about it on the blog- HERE.

The cold weather here was my inspiration for this challenge. We had some beautiful snow for Thanksgiving and it was followed by a nasty cold snap. The only good thing about this cold snap is the gorgeous frost on the trees. So much sparkle! :) So my challenge to you is to create a layout with some SPARKLE to it! You can use Stickles, sequins, glitter, glittery washi tape, etc. Anything that will add a little sparkle. :)

I used Moxxie's new line, Season's Greetings. I just LOVE the colors and those adorable deer along the bottom. For my sparkles I used Stickles and sequins.
Here's a little close up of some of the sparkle. :)

Now go check out all the fun challenges at Scrap With Us
Thanks for stopping by! :)

Fall Card with a Challenge

Hello! I have some fun news to share with you today.
 I've joined Scrap With Us Design Team!
I'm so excited to share with you my first challenge with them.

Since I have such a washi tape addiction I thought it would be fun to do something with it. The challenge is to pull out your washi tape stash and create a card or a layout and use it as main part of the design. Get creative! Use as many as you want! Here is my card.

I used some Heidi Swapp Gold Color Shine on some Confetti White cardstock. Next I layered some washi tape. For my embellishments I fussy cut that adorable fox I stamped, cut out a few leaves and added a cute little square button with some twine.

We would LOVE to have you come join us in the fun and take some time to look around and join us in the other challenges we have going on!
Thanks for stopping by! :)

Picking Pumpkins Layout

I love fall! I love everything about it, especially pumpkins! Moxxie's new line Fall Harvest, does NOT disappoint, it's just adorable! I have the perfect picture of my girls from last year at a pumpkin patch, picking out pumpkins. We had so much fun!
I love the paper and stickers in this line. The colors are just gorgeous. Moxxie even has a beautiful Alpha sticker set that matches it perfectly. I used them here for the title. Behind the title I did some layering with other papers from the line. Also added some faux stitching with a white pen.
I also spritzed some gold ink on the background and used a punch for the frilly little scalloped border on the strip of paper behind my picture.
I really love to play around with my journaling and one of my favorite things to do is to pop up my pictures with some foam dots so I can slide in a tag behind it with my journaling on it.

Thanks for stopping by! :)

XC (Cross Country) layout

I'd like to share another layout I created using pictures from the gal I mentioned in my Monday post HERE. I used Moxxie's Cross Country line again.
I had fun layering different pieces of designer paper from this line behind my picture. But before I did I did some distressing around the edges of each one. Here's some close up's of the embellishments.

Are you runner? Have a runner in your life? This is an awesome line to scrapbook those pictures!

Fun in the Sun layout

Oh, how I love summer time! I never tire of scrapbooking summer pictures. I was digging around through some older pictures, back from... 2004. Don't tell me I'm the only one that has pictures from clear back then to scrapbook!? lol I sure hope I'm not! :)

I started out with my base and spritzed it with some Heidi Swapp Color Shine. I just love the splatters of ink. Then I began layering and strips of paper, and embellishing.
I cut apart some banners and tied a bit of twine in the corners of the middle one. Next I popped it up with some foam dots behind it.
My favorite were the alpha's! Aren't these adorable?
What's your favorite season? Do you tend to scrapbook one more than the other?
Love to hear about it in the comments!
Thanks for stopping by! :)

Moxxie {Got Mud?}

I love to see my girls get out, have fun and get dirty! Especially, if it's not on my watch! Hahaha! My two girls (who were 4 & 2 years old) had been over playing at Nanny's (my girls have always called my mom Nanny instead of Grandma) house for the weekend. The girls kept getting in the way inside that she decided to send them outside to play by themselves. When Nanny went out to check on them later, she got a BIG surprise! Those two little girl had managed to drag a hose out to the un-planted (thankfully!) garden, turned it on and played in the mud! You know what? They still remember that and had a blast! My mom, well she snapped a picture, sent to me and called me laughing.
Such fun memories!
The minute I set eyes on that sheet of paper in Moxxie's new line Fun Run I knew that line and this picture just had to go together! I took a piece of kraft cardstock that was slightly bigger than my picture and ran it through my paper crimper and off set it behind my picture. But once I had glued them down I decided it needed something else. So I carefully peeled up the left side, I may do this more often than I care to admit! lol, then added two vertical strips of washi tape and re-glued the crimped cardstock & picture back down. There, that looked better! ;)
I then added a little cluster of embellishments in the bottom right corner of my picture. I added a little resin flower with a button brad. Also included a bit of twine that I looped and threaded behind the picture. This time instead of peeling up what I had already glued down, I stuck a pencil behind the picture just to give me enough room to thread some of the twin up ward and have it come out the top.
Then for the "We Make Mud Look Good" I used Moxxie Alpha's. I love the color assortment they have!  The colorful arrows came from the sticker sheet that coordinates with the line Fun Run. I love the bright vibrant colors against that dark rich sheet of brown. They really set each other off well.
Thanks for stopping by! :)

Layout {my friend, MY SISTER}

Good morning! How are you doing today? Good, I hope! I have such a cute layout to share with you using Bella Blvd's Family Forever & Tiny Tot's collections.
These two girls have been such good friends from day one. I love how adorable they are! These pictures were from 8 years ago! Just hanging out and having fun at Nanny's (Grandma's) house.
I started out with a base and then for the next layer I rounded out the edges using a punch. I layered a few strips towards the top. I also used a Martha Stewart punch for the top of the yellow-ish piece of cardstock where I did my title.
My favorite part is the cute banner I was able to create using the Bella Blvd.'s crotchet hearts and some black twine. Love all the beautiful colors!
Hope you enjoyed!

Scrap It Girl {Selfie}

Good morning! and Happy March! He we are at the start of a new month, where does the time fly off to!? Well, with it being the beginning of the month it's time for Scrap It Girl's monthly challenge! This month we are focusing on SELFIES!! That's right, selfies! Now's the time to bust one of them out and print it! If you don't have one what a perfect excuse to take one! We always leave ourselves out of the scrapbooks, it's time to add a picture of you! Here's mine!
I did this layout last year and submitted it to Scrap n' Art Magazine. It was chosen to be published so I didn't get much of an opportunity to share it until now. I love how perfect this layout came out. Taking selfie's is really not my thing but I need to remember that someday my daughters or even grandchildren might want to see who I was. ;)
I started out with some wooden doilies. The more I looked at them the more I decided they could pass for snowflakes and started inking them up. I added foam dots the backs and tied some twine to make them look like they were hanging.
Here's a closer look.
Then on this one I wanted it flush with the picture so I cut it in half using an exact-o knife.
Now it's your turn! You have until March 31st to link up your fun Selfie layout over at Scrap It Girl! You'll also want to go check out the awesome prize and what the rest of the design team has to share!
Thanks for stopping by! :)

Moxxie {New Line Blog Hop}

Hello!
Thanks so much for joining us for Moxxie's 2015 Winter Release Hop!

While the boss is away at CHA we thought we'd show you some of the fantastic projects our amazing Muses have already created using these wonderful lines.
You will be able to hop to each muse's blog to see all the details about their project and the entire line that they used for their project. So make sure to stick around to the end to see how you can enter to win!!

The new line I chose to work with is Winery. I love the deep rich colors and the fun alpha's that coordinate with it!
I'd like to share with you the layout I did using this gorgeous line. Right after Christmas my little family and I took off to Garden City, UT (which incidentally is only about 20 minutes away from Beaver Mountain Ski resort!) for a week long break. The girls and my husband took off skiing and I got the whole place to myself. It was utterly relaxing! As I'm sure you can tell from my picture! lol I love those quiet, relaxing moments!

I cut down my Fine Wine  page by about 1/2" on a side and along the top so I could then matte it onto some cardstock. Before doing that I did ink up the edges of my page with some Tim Holtz Vintage Photo Distress Ink (LOVE that stuff!). I then cut out some banners out of the papers in this line. Then created little swirls off to the sides using sequins and added a few Petaloo flowers.Here's a close up of the sequins & flowers.
I also did some fussy cutting of the wine glass on the cutouts and gave it some dimension with a few 3d-dots.
Thanks for stopping by! Hope you enjoyed my layout using Moxxie's GORGEOUS Winry line.

Now to share with you my fun little project!
I have such a fun & very cute way to display your pictures and you get to use up some of those cd cases that are just laying around! They are perfect for this time of the year, they make great gifts for the grandparents!

You’ll need 4 regular cd cases (not the slim ones).
Carefully take out the part that holds the CD in.
   Then re-assemble two of the cd cases backwards.
You’ll then need to cut four sheets to be your background for each side. The dimensions will need to be:  4 5/8" x 5 3/4" From there add your pictures, embellish away. Here are some close ups of my four.

Add them to your cube, snap all four sides together and voila! You now have an adorable center piece! You can even add a vase or candle to sit inside of it! Here's a shot from the top.

Nuts About Sketches {Too Cute to Spook}

I absolutely LOVE the month of October! Fall is gorgeous where I live, with all the leaves changing and cooler temperatures. An added bonus to this time of year is all the yummy pumpkin flavored goodies that come out! Mmm.... Then it only gets better with Halloween! I have so much with my girls, I love dressing them up! As I was going through some old pictures I found some back from Halloween of 2005!
They were perfect for Nuts About Sketches new double layout sketch.
I used some fun little embellies and splattered some Heidi Swapp Black Velvet Color Shine through out my layout along with inking the edges with Tim Holtz Pumice Stone Distress Ink.
Here's some close up's of the layout.

Make sure to swing by Nuts About Sketches to see all the other Design team members takes on this awesome sketch! Thanks for stopping by! :)
