Scrap It Girl {Selfie}

Good morning! and Happy March! He we are at the start of a new month, where does the time fly off to!? Well, with it being the beginning of the month it's time for Scrap It Girl's monthly challenge! This month we are focusing on SELFIES!! That's right, selfies! Now's the time to bust one of them out and print it! If you don't have one what a perfect excuse to take one! We always leave ourselves out of the scrapbooks, it's time to add a picture of you! Here's mine!
I did this layout last year and submitted it to Scrap n' Art Magazine. It was chosen to be published so I didn't get much of an opportunity to share it until now. I love how perfect this layout came out. Taking selfie's is really not my thing but I need to remember that someday my daughters or even grandchildren might want to see who I was. ;)
I started out with some wooden doilies. The more I looked at them the more I decided they could pass for snowflakes and started inking them up. I added foam dots the backs and tied some twine to make them look like they were hanging.
Here's a closer look.
Then on this one I wanted it flush with the picture so I cut it in half using an exact-o knife.
Now it's your turn! You have until March 31st to link up your fun Selfie layout over at Scrap It Girl! You'll also want to go check out the awesome prize and what the rest of the design team has to share!
Thanks for stopping by! :)

Moxxie {Sketch Challenge- Winterland layout}

Good morning! I just wanted to share with you real quick another fun layout I created using Moxxie's Sketch Challenge
I basically did the same thing I did on this layout and just stretched the sketch out into a 2 pager. Some of the fun details I did on it were I used a punch to give me beautiful snowflake border and then used the punched out flakes and sprinkled them across the top. I also added some Stickles the punched out flakes and traced some of the snowflakes from the Winterland paper that I could see through the vellum. I love how it turned out and gave it a bit of dimension. Here's a few close ups.
Have you been creating so you can enter Moxxie's sketch challenge giveaway for one of their new amazing lines!? Can't wait to see what you do! :)

Moxxie {Let It Snow}

Good morning! I have a "perfect for winter" layout to share with you. I used Moxxie's AWESOME Winterland line. I really love the colors, they are gorgeous in this winter line (and I'm someone who normally doesn't like purple so that means a lot!). :)
Lately, I've been cutting down my designer paper by a quarter inch on the top and side and layering it over some cardstock. I really like the look it gives it. I did a bit of distressing around the edges of the designer paper. I then did some layering with some of the scraps I had behind the picture. I also fussy cut some of the snowflakes. I also traced out a few with some clear glittery Stickles, because snowflakes should just sparkle. Here's some close ups of the some of the details. It's hard to see it in the picture but the Stickles look amazing on the snowflakes! :
I also sprinkled some punched out snowflakes and sequins.
Thanks for stopping by! :)

Snowboarding with Nuts About Sketches

Snowboarding! My girls went up to Pebble Creek Ski Resort in Idaho with the 4-H group and decided to try out snowboarding! They've been skiing for about 2 years now but they really wanted to give snowboarding a try! And the results..... they LOVED it! They had such a great time and I have to say I'm rather proud of those 3 little girls for stepping out of their comfort zone and challenging themselves to try something new!
For this layout I used a new NAS sketch. Doesn't it look like fun!? This was one of my favorites!
On this layout I cut out two circles and inked around all the edges. My favorite part was inking up the wooden snowflakes! I even cut one in half and stuck it on the edge of the layout and tucked the other behind the middle picture of the cluster of 3.
As for the title it was cut out with the Silhouette, inked it up with Tim Holtz Distress Ink Vintage Photo. I glued the "S" right down on the layout and used 3D-Dots for the rest of the title.
Go check out all the other great layouts from the rest of the design team at Nuts About Sketches! Some amazing inspiration and different takes on the sketch!
