Sketch N Scrap {friend card}

Sketch N Scrap has a new card sketch up to share with you.

Here is my take on the sketch. I've been going through some of my old kits and trying to use them up. This old Stampin' Up! kit was one of my favorites and I had just a bunch of little bits and pieces that weren't enough for a layout but perfect for a card.

Sketch N Scrap {Happy Birthday card}

Good morning! How is your weekend going so far? Mine has been PACKED it feels like. I keep telling myself to try to enjoy it because some day I'll find that there is nothing to do and an empty home with all my girls gone and moved out! But enough of that I have a quick and simple birthday card to share with you. I created this using Sketch N Scrap's card sketch.

 I had some scraps left from an old kit and thought they would be perfect to use up on cards. What do you do with your extra's or scraps?

Make sure to pop over to the Scrap N Sketch blog to check out my fellow design teams take on the same sketch, join us for the challenge and see what the awesome prize is!!

Fall Card with a Challenge

Hello! I have some fun news to share with you today.
 I've joined Scrap With Us Design Team!
I'm so excited to share with you my first challenge with them.

Since I have such a washi tape addiction I thought it would be fun to do something with it. The challenge is to pull out your washi tape stash and create a card or a layout and use it as main part of the design. Get creative! Use as many as you want! Here is my card.

I used some Heidi Swapp Gold Color Shine on some Confetti White cardstock. Next I layered some washi tape. For my embellishments I fussy cut that adorable fox I stamped, cut out a few leaves and added a cute little square button with some twine.

We would LOVE to have you come join us in the fun and take some time to look around and join us in the other challenges we have going on!
Thanks for stopping by! :)

Celebracion Card

Good morning! I have a gorgeous card to share with you today. I used Moxxie's new line Day of the Dead. If you haven't seen it, you really should go check it out. I love how rich and vibrant the colors are and the art amazing. I love the sugar skulls!
For my base I used a sheet of black cardstock, making my card a 4 1/4" x 5 1/2". I then layered on those gorgeous yummy papers. My favorite part about these papers is how they look so much like strips of washi tape! I distressed around the edges and used my favorite Martha Stewart border punch. I fussy cut the little doily looking oval out of the cut out sheet and added dimension by "popping" it up with 3D foam dots.
This was a very quick and easy card to put together.
What is your favorite part of the card? Let me know in the comments!

Happy Birthday Wiper Card

Hello! I love making cards! In fact when I very first was introduced to paper crafts clear back in.... 2004! Wow! That seems so long ago! I mostly made cards. I didn't really start with layouts until the last few years. So every once in a while I get a little nostalgic and get making a card! Of course they usually have to be a card that's fun and maybe a bit interactive. :) Today I have a fun wiper card to share with you using Moxxie's Cheerleading line.
I used different sized circle punches and punched out of circles from each of the designer sheets in the Cheerleading line. I also fussy cut some stars out and popped them and some of the circles up with some foam dots. Happy Birthday was done with Moxxie's Alpha's.

 Here are a couple more pictures I took with my lovely assistant/daughter to show you how it works.

I found a great tutorial for this fun card at splitcoaststampers.com. They did such a great job explaining it, click HERE to see it.

Do you like to make different or interactive cards? What kind are you favorites? I'd love to hear all about it in the comments!

Scrap It Girl {Smile card & Challenge}

Hello! Time for another Scrap It Girl Challenge! This month we are challenging you to use- brads, bling & buttons. I do so enjoy using all sorts of embellishments! :)
I created a card for this challenge...
I created a tri-fold card and used some Imaginisce jewels and some brads on the front. I used the Imaginisce jewels in the middle of the flowers.
Then on the inside I added a cute little flower button and added a couple of flowers with some more Imaginisce jewels in the middle.
Head over to Scrap It Girl's site to see some more inspiration on this fun challenge from the other Design Team Memebers! Once there, join us with this fun challenge and link it up over at Scrap It Girl and show us what you've created!

Moxxie {Little Star card}

Hello! Did any of you go to CHA this year!? I would love to attend sometime! Maybe I should add that to my ever growing bucket list! :) Well, if you did get the chance to attend and you stopped by the Moxxie booth you might have seen my cute and fun little card I want to share with you today! Yup, my card made it to CHA! So exciting!
For this cute little card I used Moxxie’s new line, Tiny Dancer. I absolutely love the colors! I used a gray piece of cardstock for my base card (4 ¼” x 5 ½” after folding). I then cut, distressed and layered some of the papers in the Tiny Dancer line. I added some twine and few Imaginisce jewels. Now for the fun part, the inside! On the inside you can “wind up” the little ballerina, close the card and when the recipient opens it she will twirl for them! :)
I started out with a strip of cardstock 5 ½” wide by 5 ¼” tall. I scored the strip ½” in from each side and also in the middle
at 2 ¾”.
Then I cut out the middle leaving 1/2" on the top and bottom and 1" on each side like in the picture below.
Now, since the little dancer in the middle spins, I needed two identical pieces. I fussy cut the dancer twice out of the Cutout sheet, then I placed some Sticky Strip right down the middle of the back of one. Next, I centered a long piece of dental floss on the Sticky Strip. I then stuck the two little dancers together with the Sticky Strip plus some additional adhesive around the edges.
Next you are going to take some small pieces of Sticky Strip and place right next to the middle score line on the top and bottom like the picture below.
You then center the dancer vertically in the frame, pull the dental floss ends tight across the short bits of Sticky Strip, and close the piece of cardstock together, sandwiching the floss in between. Next trim the floss flush with the top and bottom of the frame. I wish I had a picture to show you but I forgot to take any more pictures! :( I then applied more sticky strip down the "tab" sides of the frame, and glued them into the card. Here's a close up of the inside of the card.
Notice how the floss suspends the dancer in the frame. This allows her to be "wound" and then to spin once the card is opened. Once you are done you should be able to just "wind" her up and close the card to give your recipient a lovely surprise! :)

Moxxie {A Halloween Treat}

Good morning! Has the Halloween bug bit you yet? I LOVE Halloween! So much fun stuff! The best part is finding excellent paper collections to play with and Moxxie has an AMAZING one....
Isn't it AWESOME!? I've had so much fun using it on my layouts but I wanted to do something different  this go around. I found a fun pattern in the Silhouette store called a Tootsie Treat Box and created some using Moxxi'es Zombie Attack!
They turned out AWESSOME! I love how fast and easy they were to put together and the best part was being able to make them different sizes. I just wrapped some bakers twine to the ends to hold them closed and made a little 3x3 card to with them.
I did a bit of fussy cutting with the hands and the blood dripping off the top.
Fun, easy and quick, 3-things I love when making a project! :)
Do you have some fun projects going for Halloween?
Thanks for stopping by! :)

Scrap It Girl {Favorite Thing Friday: Embellishment(s)}

Happy Friday! Hope everyone has some fun plans for the weekend! It being Friday it's also time for Favorite Thing Friday over at Scrap It Girl! Today we are covering Embellishments! Yeah! I am a huge embellie fan. It was so hard narrowing it down to just one favorite embellishment but I decided to go with the one I've been playing with the most lately. Can you guess what it is? Ok, ok, I'll tell you! My favorite embellishment at the moment are..... SEQUINS! I love the added bling!
I was very hesitant and actually not sure how to use these little lovelies at first. Now I reach for them all the time! I believe they add just that little extra "wow!" that I'm usually looking for. LOVE them! Here's a quick, cute card I put together to show you how cute and easy they are to use!
I used a gel pen to make the little faux stitches around the edges. I then found a cute little cloud in my Stampin' Up! By Air stamp set. It's actually a solid stamp so I used a marker to just color the edges, then fussy cut it and used 3D- Foam dots to pop it up. The sequins I just kind eyeballed it for the rainbow. I love how cute it turned out. Then for the final touch I stamped the sentiment from Stampin' Up! Small Sayings stamp set with some Tim Holtz Pumice Stone Ink.

Thanks for stopping by! Make sure to share with us your favorite embellishments over at Scrap It Girl. I love the embellishments the other Design Team members shared! Totally awesome!

Scrap It Girl {Thinking of You}

Hey! How are you doing? Getting lots of crafty stuff done? Or totally sunbathing and enjoying this gorgeous weather we've been having? Whatever it is I hope you are enjoying it 110%! ;)

Today is the first day of June! Where did May go!? Since it is the first day of June Scrap It Girl has a new challenge for you this month! This month the theme is Things with Wings. So for this challenge I made a card.
This is a 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" card by cutting an 8 1/2" x 11" piece of cardstock in half and then folding it. I ran the lighter blue pieces of cardstock through my Cuttlebug using  Paper Studio- Tiny Polka embossing folder (seriously my favorite! More about that HERE). I rounded out the edges on the lighter blue and gray strips and lined them up with the edge of my card. Those gorgeous butterflies were cut on my Silhouette. On the white one I used some stickles. Here's a closer look of that one, the picture doesn't do it justice. It is so much prettier in person. It really sparkles. :)
Now for the inside.... this is a pop up card I've done by overlaying some of the butterflies to create a cluster of them. What do you think? Pretty, right! Love how well this turned out.
Here's a close up of the butterflies, I covered the small white one is some stickles.
Now make sure to head over to Scrap It Girl and check out the other designers projects and join in the fun! The prize is AWESOME!!!! You never know if you'll win, if you never give it a try! Thanks for stopping by! :)

Favorite Things Friday {Washi Tape}

Is there anyone out there that just doesn't LOVE washi tape!? Wait! Don't answer that! I'm not sure I could handle finding out there is someone out there not loving it! lol
Me on the other hand, I am an addict and a bit of a hoarder! Not a good combination! ;) Scrap It Girl is doing there Favorite Thing Friday on washi tape and I just can not narrow it down to just a few! I love them all! Here is my stash....
My daughters have counted it a time or two for me, let's just leave it at that I have a "healthy" collection! lol I wanted to show you how fast and easy it is to create a card with just washi tape. Here's one I put together in less than 5 minutes. Super cute, right!?
I used those two rolls of washi tape sitting right beside the card. I love that hombre look of the wide roll. It kind of reminded me of a sunset or sunrise, whatever you'd like. and thought it would layer perfectly with my birdies. I really love those birds. I then just stamped "thanks" and added three little silver sequins for just a "dash" of bling. Super cute and easy! Here's a layout I created awhile ago for a challenge, no patterned paper allowed, so I used only cardstock & washi tape.
And one more layout for you with washi tape. You can read more about this one HERE

Now go to Scrap It Girl's blog and check out the other designers favorites and share with us yours! Because everyone loves washi! ;) Thanks for stopping by!
