Every Picture Records a Little Story layout

Good morning! Today's layout that I would like to share with you is of my youngest daughter who loves any excuse to play in the rain or with her umbrella.
I used a sheet of cardstock and layered a sheet designer paper on top. I rounded the corners on my pictures with a punch. I then used some adorable chipboard to embellish. It was PERFECT! :) Love those rain drops.

Next I popped up my picture with 3d foam dots so I could slide my tag with my journaling under it.

I also added some cute little chipboard hearts on my tag and directly to my picture.
What's the most interesting way you've done your journaling before? I'd love to hear about it in the comments!
Thanks for stopping by! :)

Recipe: Honey Sesame Chicken in the Crockpot

What's for dinner? That is always the question around here. As I was browsing through Pinterest for keywords such as- easy, dinner, chicken. I came across this Pin, a recipe for Honey Sesame Chicken. Scanned the ingredient list, saw that I had everything I needed (that's always a plus!) and thought I'd try it out. Let me tell you, it was a hit! And trust me when I say that is a big deal in this house! I have such picky eaters! A Pinterest Success in my book!

Honey Sesame Chicken
2 pounds boneless, skinless chicken
1 small onion, diced
2 cloves garlic, minced
1/2 cup honey
1/2 cup soy sauce
1/4 cup ketchup
2 tablespoons olive oil
1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
Kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste

Garnish
1 green onion, thinly sliced
Sesame seeds

Combine onion, garlic, honey, soy sauce, ketchup, olive oil and red pepper flakes in a bowl. Season chicken thighs with salt & pepper and place in crock pot. Pour mixture over chicken. Cover.

I cooked mine on High for about an 1 1/2 hours. Pulled the chicken out, shredded it and added it back to the sauce in the crock pot to keep it warm. Serve over white rice and garnish with green onions and/or sesame seeds.

Happy Birthday Wiper Card

Hello! I love making cards! In fact when I very first was introduced to paper crafts clear back in.... 2004! Wow! That seems so long ago! I mostly made cards. I didn't really start with layouts until the last few years. So every once in a while I get a little nostalgic and get making a card! Of course they usually have to be a card that's fun and maybe a bit interactive. :) Today I have a fun wiper card to share with you using Moxxie's Cheerleading line.
I used different sized circle punches and punched out of circles from each of the designer sheets in the Cheerleading line. I also fussy cut some stars out and popped them and some of the circles up with some foam dots. Happy Birthday was done with Moxxie's Alpha's.

Here are a couple more pictures I took with my lovely assistant/daughter to show you how it works.

I found a great tutorial for this fun card at splitcoaststampers.com. They did such a great job explaining it, click HERE to see it.

Do you like to make different or interactive cards? What kind are you favorites? I'd love to hear all about it in the comments!

Cheer Jar of Goodies

Good morning! I have another project to share with you using Moxxie's new Cheerleading line. This one is full of chocolaty goodness! :)

Using a wide mouth mason jar, I decorated it using some designer paper and few stickers from the Cheerleading line.

Next I wrapped up the adorable jar. I just couldn't leave at that. So I created a cute little tag to tie around the top.
All ready to go some cute little cheerleader!

THE Super Shot layout

Good morning!! What's on the agenda for today? Any crafty fun? Maybe you just need some inspiration. ;) I've got an awesome fun layout to hopefully do just that. :)

My baby sister just got married last year and during the reception I set up a little make shift photo booth. Let me tell you, it was a hit with all the little girls! They took so many "Super shots" as they called them. I LOVE that they did, the pictures were perfect!
Moxxie's new Cheerleading line was perfect for this picture.
I matted my main designer paper onto a sheet of black cardstock, but before I did I distressed the edges by running the edge of a pair of scissors along it all four sides. Then once matted I cut strips and distressed them to layer behind the picture. Next, I used some Heidi Swapp Black Vlevet & Tinsel color shine mists. To get the big droplets I unscrew the top and just flick some of the ink off the end of the tube. I used Moxxie's White Alpha's for the title and fussy cut some stars out and popped them up with some foam dots.
Next I outlined the big star with some Icicle Stickles.
Then I added some pieces of black twine that I tucked in behind a star.
Well I hope that gave you some inspiration to and do a bit of craftiness today! Let me know in the comments what your plans are.
Thanks for stopping by! :)

Layout {You Have to Kiss a Few Frogs...}

Where has the summer gone!? It seems like I'm always trying to figure out where time always vanishes to! I'm just grateful for all the pictures to remind me of where the time goes and all the sweet memories we've made along the way. :)

This layout is of my oldest during Easter. She got a stuffed frog from the Easter Bunny. ;) She grabbed it and started to kiss it, making us all laugh, such a silly girl. The line from Simple Stories- Enchanted was perfect for this picture! I used sketch #145 from Sketchabilities and decided to combine it with a challenge from My Scraps & More

A close up of some of the embellishments and techniques I used on this layout. I did some faux stitching, fussy cutting, misting, along with some distressing. Isn't the frog just adorable!
Here I used a heart stencil and some gesso, along with some gelatos. I stamped some stars from Sweet Stamp Shop, directly onto the picture. I love the cute little heart & flower embellishments.

Scrap It Girl {Smile card & Challenge}

Hello! Time for another Scrap It Girl Challenge! This month we are challenging you to use- brads, bling & buttons. I do so enjoy using all sorts of embellishments! :)
I created a card for this challenge...
I created a tri-fold card and used some Imaginisce jewels and some brads on the front. I used the Imaginisce jewels in the middle of the flowers.
Then on the inside I added a cute little flower button and added a couple of flowers with some more Imaginisce jewels in the middle.
Head over to Scrap It Girl's site to see some more inspiration on this fun challenge from the other Design Team Memebers! Once there, join us with this fun challenge and link it up over at Scrap It Girl and show us what you've created!
Thanks for stopping by! :)
