Favorite Things Friday {Scissors}

TGIF! What fun weekend plans do all of you have? It's time for Favorite Things Friday over at Scrap It Girl! Today we are doing scissors. The hard part for me was deciding on ONE set! But I reach for these beauties 9 out of 10 times. They are nice and sharp and great for getting in doing some fussy cutting around smaller images.
Here's a tag I created but doing some fussy cutting  on it with those snazzy scissors. ;)
I stamped this cute dragon fly from my Stampin' Up! stamp set Bugs & Kisses twice. I then cut both of them out, keeping one intact but cut the second one apart so I just had the wings. I added some stickles to the second set of wings and then attached them with some 3D-Dots. Here's a close up of the wings.
I punched out the bottom of the blue tag with a Martha Stewart punch and then layered it onto a slightly larger white tag I had created and just cut around the punched area along the bottom. Then I tied some ribbon to the top of the tag to finish it off. So pretty don't you think?

Make sure to head over to Scrap It Girl and see what the design team members like to use and while you're there share with us your favorite pair of scissors! Thanks for stopping by! Have a great weekend! :)

Rock Haus with Nuts About Sketches

Happy Monday! Ya, I know, trust me I don't say that very often but I'm really excited to share this layout with you today! So it is definitely a happy Monday! ;) I used Nuts About Sketches newest sketch. Another great one! I don't usually do two page layouts, but I really had fun with this one! Make sure to go over to their blog to check out. :)

 Here's my layout! My sister and her boyfriend took my 3 girls the a rock climbing facility for the first time. At first the girls were really hesitant and not too sure they really wanted to do it. But it didn't take them long to get talked into climbing the walls! They LOVED it!!! It was so fun to watch them learn so much and so quickly!

I used a kit I bought from Scraptastic Club- Mr. Big Stuff Add on. I love all the fun bright colors in this kit. I wanted some really fun accents for this page though and I couldn't find much in my stash. I also started looking around the Silhouette store for some ideas and came across that cute little rock climber and inked the cut out a little bit, perfect!
Now for my FAVORITE part! I made my own little rock climbing holds using liquid pears! They were so easy and pure genius if I do say so myself! ;) I printed out a picture of some holds then I placed a sheet of acetate over it.
In the first frame I'm outlining a shape with some liquid pearls. Then in the second frame I dropped in a white eyelet to look like the screw that the real ones have. In the third frame I'm just filling in a little bit more around the eyelet with some more liquid pearls. Then for the worst part of this whole process..... drying time! I left them out in a safe (so no kids would touch it) place until the next morning. They were dry and pulled off rather easily but peel off gently just in case. I then attached them to my layout with some mini glue dots.
Don't they look amazing!? I love how well they turned out. Then for the title I found some left over pieces of chipboard alphabets.
Well that's it for today! Make sure to head over to Nuts About Sketches so you can check out the sketch and the rest of design teams take on it! There's always some great inspiration there! Thanks for stopping by!

Favorite Things Friday {Washi Tape}

Is there anyone out there that just doesn't LOVE washi tape!? Wait! Don't answer that! I'm not sure I could handle finding out there is someone out there not loving it! lol
Me on the other hand, I am an addict and a bit of a hoarder! Not a good combination! ;) Scrap It Girl is doing there Favorite Thing Friday on washi tape and I just can not narrow it down to just a few! I love them all! Here is my stash....
My daughters have counted it a time or two for me, let's just leave it at that I have a "healthy" collection! lol I wanted to show you how fast and easy it is to create a card with just washi tape. Here's one I put together in less than 5 minutes. Super cute, right!?
I used those two rolls of washi tape sitting right beside the card. I love that hombre look of the wide roll. It kind of reminded me of a sunset or sunrise, whatever you'd like. and thought it would layer perfectly with my birdies. I really love those birds. I then just stamped "thanks" and added three little silver sequins for just a "dash" of bling. Super cute and easy! Here's a layout I created awhile ago for a challenge, no patterned paper allowed, so I used only cardstock & washi tape.
And one more layout for you with washi tape. You can read more about this one HERE

Now go to Scrap It Girl's blog and check out the other designers favorites and share with us yours! Because everyone loves washi! ;) Thanks for stopping by!

Real Salt Lake with Nuts About Sketches

How was everyone's weekend? Hopefully it was a great one! We had some gorgeous weather in my neck of the woods! How was it your way?

Today's layout was done with a sketch from Nuts About Sketches. I love her sketches! They are easy to work with and I love that they encourage me to use other shapes on my pictures than the normal rectangular shape of pictures!
I love these pictures! My oldest daughter's rec soccer team Coach (she was AWESOME) took the whole team at the end of their soccer season to watch Real Salt Lake in action! Talk about a cool way to end their soccer season! Even better was that my daughter had her best friend on the team and they were able to go together! My hubby & I had the chance to go with them and had a great time with the kids! :)
I wanted to do something fun with this layout and I had a Moxxie Soccer kit I've been itching to use! I used a sheet from the kit to be my background. Isn't that soccer ball print awesome!? I love it! I cut out the title on my Silhouette Cameo.
I also cut a circle out of the paper and then layered with a bit of vellum to do my journalling on and tucked in tickets from the game behind my journaling.
Along the top I cut out strips of 1"x1 1/2" and then layered them by 1/2" and spritzed some Heidi Swapp Teal Color Shine on it. I also distressed the inner edges of the blue to just provide a bit of texture.
Loved creating this layout! See how cute those pictures look cut into circle!? Are you comfortable cutting your pictures into other shapes?
Thanks for stopping by! Make sure to head over to Nuts About Sketches and check out the other layouts created with the sketch!

Favorite Things Friday {Embossing Folder}

Happy Friday! So excited for the weekend.
With it being Friday it's time for Scrap It Girls Favorite Things Friday and today we are covering embossing folder(s). My favorite one in my stash is by Paper Studio- Tiny Polka. I have a few other embossing folders but this one is my go to one.
I wanted to showcase this embossing folder with a cute little project that was quick & easy to make.
I used a small, clear container that a bottle of Heidi Swapp Color Shine came in. I cut off the little tab that they use at the store to hang it on and filled it with Mini Chewy Sweetarts. I loved them because of the size & color. I used some Doodlebug cardstock-Bubblegum for the main wrap and ran it through my Cuttlebug with the Tiny Polka embossing folder. Aren't those cute little polka dots just adorable on the cardstock!? I did a thinner band from Doodlebug cardstock-Stone Gray.
I also embossed the 1 3/4" scalloped circle that I punched out with my Stampin' Up! punch. I used the Stampin' Up! Sweet on You stamp set, stamped Sweet on Stampin' Up! Very Vanilla cardstock & punched out the image to layer on the scalloped circle. I punched out a little heart and attached it with a 3D dot. I then cut out "tart" on my Silhouette Cameo. Here's a close up of it....
What do you think? Cute? I sure loved it and hope the Sweet"tart" that receives this will love it as much I do! Do you have a favorite embossing folder or two? Come joins us over at Scrap It Girl and check out all the other designers favorites! Who knows, maybe you'll find a new one you'll just have to get! ;) Thanks for stopping by and joining me!

Moxxie

I am soooo excited to share with you that I have made the Moxxie team! I am officially a Moxxie Muse! Woo-hoo! In fact let me share a layout with you using one (trust me there's more than one favorite!) of my favorite Moxxie lines, Child's Play.

I love the colors and fun kind of little bit of whimsy swirlies on this paper. I loved them so much I decided to really make them pop on this page so I did a bit of fussy cutting around them. The blue swirly is a sticker element that I layered under the yellow swirlies to really make them pop.
The sticker elements in this line are awesome! These banners are part of it too. LOVE them! :)
I can not even begin to express to you my excitement of being a Moxxie Muse and how excited I am to play with more of their fun, gorgeous lines! Check out the rest of the Muses on Moxxie's blog! Thanks for stopping by and joining me!

Rainbows

Time for a new challenge at Scrap It Girl! This month we are focusing on Mothers and/or Mother Nature. I went with some pictures I had of a gorgeous double rainbow. You just don't get to see those every day! I wanted a layout that would really accentuate the colors of the rainbow.
Coloring is a bit off on the picture but I used some gray cardstock for the base and then decided to go with washi tape for all the colors! I am a total washi tape addict! What I was amazed at was that I did not have a single purple! Time to do some shopping! ;) So to make up for it I found some designer paper that I thought had a nice pattern on it and created some strips. I was amazed at how well it all came together. All the wording was done on my Silhouette. Before laying down the washi tape I used sprayed some Shimmerz Goldie Lox spritz all over the gray cardstock. LOVE the little bit of gold sparkle to it. Here's some close ups. I also used some Imaginisce bling on the word RAINBOWS.

Now don't forget to head over to Scrap It Girl and check out the other designers amazing projects! Make sure to jump in and link up your own project there! There's a great prize! ;) Thanks so much for stopping by! :)
