Sketches in Thyme {Summer Shades}

Good morning! Today's layout was such a fun one to work with. I used a Sketches in Thyme sketch and a kit from The Scraproom. I took these pictures of my middle daughter last summer and they have been some of my favorites. She is so shy around other people that it's kind of fun to capture her what she's really like around us. ;)

I did a little bit of ink to layout here and there. Then just a few clusters of embellishments.

Thanks for stopping by! Make sure to go check out the sketch at Sketches in Thyme and play along with us! We would love to see your creations! :)

Good morning! I'm so excited to share with you today some fun and exciting news! I have been chosen to be part of a great design team over at Sketch N Scrap! They have such fun sketches and challenges make sure to check them out! Today I share with you my first layout for Sketch N Scrap!

Today's Sketch N Scrap sketch-

Here is my take on the sketch-
For my title I used a mix of alpha's- some big white foam ones and some smaller, flat ones. Then I went along using some enamal dots to break up my main title from my subtitle. I also did a bit of faux stitching along the pink alpha's of my subtitle.

Make sure to pop over to the Scrap N Sketch blog to check out my fellow design teams take on the same sketch, join us for the challenge and see what the awesome prize is!!

Our Tree

Good morning! Are we all set and ready for Christmas!? :) My layout today was of us getting our tree ready in 2014 (have I ever mentioned how behind I am at scrapping my pictures!? lol) We love having a real tree in the house, the smell is wonderful. The kids all help pick it out and prepare it to bring in and help set it up. So much fun.
I went around the edges of my patterned paper and did some piercing. Those Alpha's that I used for the title so much fun and amazing!
I loved the dear flair and that adorable metal snowflake!

{Sketches in Thyme} Playground

Good morning! I'm so excited to be part of Sketches in Thyme Challenges team! I LOVE all the fun sketches, especially this one from Shawn Stiles Lahr.
It was so much fun to work with, I love the details she adds to her sketches. Here is my take on it.
I love working with bright summery colors! Echo Park Playground Collection was perfect with it's bright colors and went perfectly with my pictures.
The element stickers are awesome! That merry go-round and the playground sticker worked out so amazingly well for my title.

I used a journaling card that I did some fussy cutting to and mounted it to a piece of cardstock. I love how it really adds some fun texture.

Make sure to head over to Sketches in Thyme blog and check out the sketch and other sketches and join us for the fun challenges! We would love to see your take on the sketches!

Happy Scraping! Thanks for stopping by! :)

Sketches in Thyme PL {My Sweet Cheeks}

Good morning! I had a glimpse of some BEAUTIFUL Spring weather and now we've had some snowy, rainy, cloudy days. I'm ready for more sunny days! :) Mean while I'm keeping busy scrapping some adorable pictures with bright, beautiful colors.

Today's layout I used a sketch from Sketches in Thyme Project Life (PL) to create a PL card.
and a sketch from The Scrap Room for the layout.

As I was going through a stack of old pictures I came across this gem of my 2nd daughter when she was 2 years old. I love that silly little grin on her sweet face!
My project life card had a cute border, sun & clouds already on it. I then added some chipboard balloons and popped the blue one up with some foam dimensionals.
I love playing with my alpha's and creating fun typographies with my titles.
Here's a few more close up's of the fun embellishments I added to my page.
I really love "popping" elements up on my pages. It adds some fun little dimension.
Here you can see the PL card tucked behind my picture and my journaling. I love how the balloons just pop up on the page and look like they are floating away. :)

Thanks for stopping by! Have a scrappy day! :)

Princess Layout

Hello! My layout today is of my cute little Princess. :) She loved wearing hats. I've been holding onto an old kit from Imaginisce called Enchanted. I'd been saving it for the perfect picture(s). I think I found one. :)

I loved adding and layering all the embellishments. They were perfect. I did punch a border using a Martha Stewart punch on some grey cardstock. Here's a few close up's of all the fun embellishments.

Stitched with LOVE

Does anyone still do quilting? I did with my mom when I was younger and I have tried to teach my daughters. This layout is of my 2nd daughter do some quilting on a quilt for herself. She was having so much fun to begin with but by the end she was ready to be done! lol

For this layout I used a sketch from My Creative Sketches along with a challenge from Scrapbook Circle. The challenge at Scrapbook Circle is to include a heart that is stitched in some way on your layout.
For this one I just had to pull out my Sew Easy supplies for this one. The heart piercer was perfect! I did it across a piece of vellum and then stitched it up. I layered that piece of vellum over some pink cardstock that I had used a border punch on.
Then for the title I used a mix of Alpha's and did some faux stitching around the "Stitched" and then outlined the other two words.
I LOVE adding puffy stickers! They add great dimension to your pages.
Next I added some washi tape behind my picture. When I placed a strip of washi tape down I noticed it was very light and got lost in that black striped paper. To remedy that I matched up and layered the washi tape about 3x's so it would really show up better. I like how it adds a pop of color next to the picture.

Thanks for stopping by! Have a scrappy day! :)

Dance Your {HEART} Out

How often do you do two page layouts? I myself don't do them very often, but they sure are nice you have several pictures of one event. This layout is of another dance performance by my second daughter's combo dance group. They dance to a mix of Call Me Maybe and Pay Phone. They looked so good in their sparkly oufits and did a fantastic job on the dance. For this layout I used another sketch from Sketches in Thyme, they really have some fun ones to play with!
I used some fun little enamel stars here, they are just adorable!
Then for the title I used some glittered Thickers and a puffy heart along with some smaller alphas.
I did do a few things different from the original sketch on the left side they had 4 pictures, but since I didn't have four pictures I chose to use the area for a fun quote an my journaling. That's the best part about sketches, you can change them up to what works best for you!
Thanks for stopping by! Have a scrappy day! :)

Home Grown Layout

Good morning! We have had some rainy days and had our first little bit of snow this last weekend! I'm not sure I'm ready for it, I still want to enjoy more of the beautiful fall weather where the leaves are gorgeous colors and the temperature outside is just perfect.
How about you, are you ready for the snow?

Today I have fun 2 page layout to share with you from back in 2011 when we had a garden. The hubby built 3 little boxes so each of the girls could plant their own little garden in them. They did such  a good job of taking care weeding and watering them. So when my sister and brother in law came up for a visit they just had to show off their hard work and share some of the yummy goodies they had grown.

It was a fun layout to work on with all the embellishments. I did some faux stitching, used a punch and even got in some washi tape. :) Here's a few close up's of all those fun details.

Autumn Layout

Good morning! How is your day going? I have a fun fall layout to share with you using Doodlebug's Fall Friends line. Such an adorable line! But it was great for this picture of my 2nd daughter at the pumpkin patch last year.
I love layering! I added a few layers behind my picture. Next, I added a few elements to the corner of my picture. I love adding elements directly to my pictures.
I also love to pop up elements on my layouts. Love the added texture.
Isn't this little mouse absolutely adorable!?
