Sketches in Thyme {Summer Shades}

Good morning! Today's layout was such a fun one to work with. I used a Sketches in Thyme sketch and a kit from The Scraproom. I took these pictures of my middle daughter last summer and they have been some of my favorites. She is so shy around other people that it's kind of fun to capture her what she's really like around us. ;)

I did a little bit of ink to layout here and there. Then just a few clusters of embellishments.

Thanks for stopping by! Make sure to go check out the sketch at Sketches in Thyme and play along with us! We would love to see your creations! :)

Birthday Celebration

How many of you start out the month with great intentions of participating in all sorts of fun challenges that other bloggers/scrapbookers/crafters put out? I always do! But there are times more often than naught that I just don't get them blogged and submitted in time. This layout is one of those times. :)

Senedra's 12th birthday last year! It never fails to amaze me how fast time goes by each year! I swear I just brought her home all swaddled in baby blankets from the hospital. Now before me is a beautiful young girl just entering her Tweens. She is my biggest cuddler and sweetheart.
 I added some faux stitching around my banner to really make it "pop" and stand out against the busy background.
I really like to add some 3D foam squares to embellishments on my layouts to add a little extra dimension. I added some to the cupcake, the title and the balloons.

 I used a Martha Steward Doily punch and then inked up the edges.

Thanks for stopping by! Happy scrapping! :)

Sketch N Scrap {Born to Ride}

Happy February 1st! :) One month closer to summer and sunshine! Haha! I've just about had enough of the is cold. In the mean time I'll continue to keep myself busy inside my warm home, scrapbooking! My favorite is to grab a sketch and get to work! Scrap N Sketch has a great one today!

My oldest daughter was probably about 3 years old in the is picture and we had gone out of town to visit her Great Grandma who lived about 5 hours away. Along the way we stopped at a gas station and they had these little motorcycles outside. She insisted that she needed to ride one because they "just her size"! I love my sassy little girl. We got her up there and she grabbed onto the handles like she knew exactly what to do and WINKED at me! lol Oh that girl. Love her.
 I love adding little clusters of embellishments.
 These little tab like pieces were fun! I even used the remains of a barcode strip! Always fun to be able to use up your scraps! I bet you can't even tell which piece it was. Alright, I'll tell you it's the one with the 3 little pink & red hearts.

Sketch N Scrap {Fun on the Slopes}

Good morning! I'm so excited to share with you today some fun and exciting news! I have been chosen to be part of a great design team over at Sketch N Scrap! They have such fun sketches and challenges make sure to check them out! Today I share with you my first layout for Sketch N Scrap!

Today's Sketch N Scrap sketch-

Here is my take on the sketch-
For my title I used a mix of alpha's- some big white foam ones and some smaller, flat ones. Then I went along using some enamal dots to break up my main title from my subtitle. I also did a bit of faux stitching along the pink alpha's of my subtitle.

Merry and Bright

Good morning! My layout was created using Grand Divas Scrappy sketch & Rochelle Spears This or That challenge. I love how adorable this layout turned out of my three cute little's with their Grandma.

I love adding a bit of paint to my layouts and even more if it's a little glittery! I love Heidi Swapp Color Shine mists for this very reason! The picture doesn't do it justice but I love the shimmery shine. :)

Nothing like a fun cluster of embellishments! I really love the swirls mixed with the metal hardware and wooden star.

Make sure to swing over to GrandDiva's Creative Corner to check out her sketch and Rochelle Spears  This & That Challenge.

Moxxie {Sketch Challenge- Winterland layout}

Good morning! I just wanted to share with you real quick another fun layout I created using Moxxie's Sketch Challenge
I basically did the same thing I did on this layout and just stretched the sketch out into a 2 pager. Some of the fun details I did on it were I used a punch to give me beautiful snowflake border and then used the punched out flakes and sprinkled them across the top. I also added some Stickles the punched out flakes and traced some of the snowflakes from the Winterland paper that I could see through the vellum. I love how it turned out and gave it a bit of dimension. Here's a few close ups.
Have you been creating so you can enter Moxxie's sketch challenge giveaway for one of their new amazing lines!? Can't wait to see what you do! :)

Moxxie {Sketch Challenge}

Hello! Today I want to share with you a fun sketch challenge that Moxxie is doing!
Here's the sketch....
Moxxie Sketch by Samantha Taylor.bmp
Such a fun sketch! I chose to stretch it out into a two page layout using Moxxie's Ice Skating line.
I extended the elements across both pages and did some fussy cutting for the title, covered it in some Stickles to "bling" it up bit and then used some some 3D-dots to add some dimension. I also fussy cut out the ice skater and used the 3D-dots on it as well. Here's some close up pictures of some of the details.
Now it's your turn! Come join us and link up your project, HERE! Also watch for more fun examples from the other Muses up on the Moxxie Blog.
Thanks for stopping by! :)

Happy 9th Birthday

This was last years birthday. The big 9! This says two things to me, 1- I'm a bit (ok just between you and me a lot!) behind in my scrapbooking and 2- time just keep flying by! As I started going through my stash I came across Imaginisce B-day Bash Paper Pad! It was perfect for these pictures!
I did a lot of "fussy cutting" with this layout. I went through and cut out a few balloons out of a sheet and used some 3D foam dots on the back of some of the balloons to add some dimension. I also punched a small hole towards the bottom so I could tie on some bakers twine to each balloon! And for a finishing touch I added a glitter covered 9 to the balloon! LOVE a little bling. ;)
Then another sheet there were these wonderful circles of presents & cake! Perfect! Pulled out my circle punches and punched out a few and did the same thing here as the balloons, layered them and added some 3D foam dots for added dimension. Aren't they cute? The strip taking off to the right of them I used a scalloped punch on.
Now this part was a bit challenging! The pad had a gorgeous sheet that was covered in banners and I just HAD to figure out how in incorporate them :) I cut out the triangle banners and did some more "popping" up with the layering and the foam dots. Then I cut out letter by letter the Happy Birthday banner. The tops were a little long which was perfect for what I wanted to do next. I folded them over and "hung" each one on some plain white bakers twine I had .
I used a sketch from Page Maps for this layout. Great challenge going on over there right now. :)

I wasn't Kissing Him... I was Whispering into His Mouth

Paper Bakery is having a sketch challenge and I decided to give it a try. Here's the sketch. If you want to see challenge click here Sketch Challenge, there's still time to enter! :)

Here's my take of the sketch.

I used Fancy Pants line- "What a Wonderful Day". Absolutely LOVE it! The colors are amazing! I used my Silhouette to cut out the words 'Kissing' and 'Whispering'. Here's a closer look at it...
 I came across the quote- "I wasn't Kissing him... I was Whispering into his mouth", years ago and have had it written on a post note for just the right picture ;) I'm not sure who said it, but it has been one of my favorites. Do any of you ever do that? Hear a quote and write it down for a use later? Some day I'll collect them all into a notebook.
