Moxxie {Got Mud?}

I love to see my girls get out, have fun and get dirty! Especially, if it's not on my watch! Hahaha! My two girls (who were 4 & 2 years old) had been over playing at Nanny's (my girls have always called my mom Nanny instead of Grandma) house for the weekend. The girls kept getting in the way inside that she decided to send them outside to play by themselves. When Nanny went out to check on them later, she got a BIG surprise! Those two little girl had managed to drag a hose out to the un-planted (thankfully!) garden, turned it on and played in the mud! You know what? They still remember that and had a blast! My mom, well she snapped a picture, sent to me and called me laughing.
Such fun memories!
The minute I set eyes on that sheet of paper in Moxxie's new line Fun Run I knew that line and this picture just had to go together! I took a piece of kraft cardstock that was slightly bigger than my picture and ran it through my paper crimper and off set it behind my picture. But once I had glued them down I decided it needed something else. So I carefully peeled up the left side, I may do this more often than I care to admit! lol, then added two vertical strips of washi tape and re-glued the crimped cardstock & picture back down. There, that looked better! ;)
I then added a little cluster of embellishments in the bottom right corner of my picture. I added a little resin flower with a button brad. Also included a bit of twine that I looped and threaded behind the picture. This time instead of peeling up what I had already glued down, I stuck a pencil behind the picture just to give me enough room to thread some of the twin up ward and have it come out the top.
Then for the "We Make Mud Look Good" I used Moxxie Alpha's. I love the color assortment they have!  The colorful arrows came from the sticker sheet that coordinates with the line Fun Run. I love the bright vibrant colors against that dark rich sheet of brown. They really set each other off well.
Thanks for stopping by! :)

Layout {SISTERS Sweet Summer Memories}

Is it summer yet? As I'm going through pictures I sure am wishing it was! Especially when I found this picture of me and my beautiful sister! Look at the color of the water! My sister lives in Vegas and we love to go visit and go swimming! We have a great time.
Simple Stories has some beautiful colors in their lines that just worked perfectly with this picture! Here's a few close up's.
Isn't that the cutest swim suit!? Just so adorable!
For the title I was able to find some yellow glittery thickers to make everything!
Are you ready for summer yet?

Moxxie {I'm so Lucky}

Did you know that St. Patty's day is right around the corner? Do you celebrate it? If so, what do you do? I'm always looking for some fun new ideas! :) We really don't do much, I either prepare dinner or a treat and turn it green. It's not much but the girls have fun with it!
The layout I want to share with you today goes right along with St. Patty's day. It's a picture I took of my husband with our girls last fall. We were doing a back to school photo shoot but you never pass up an opportunity to get pictures of everyone together! Love these people in the picture! I'm so lucky to have them in my life.
I started out with using a sheet from Moxxie's new Springtime line as my base. Lately on my layouts I've been cutting down my designer paper by 1/4" to 1/2" along a side and top and then adhere it to a sheet of cardstock giving me a nice framed look. Speaking of framing, I did a little bit of with washi tape around my picture. I then cut out my clovers and part of my title on my Silhouette. For the first part of my title I used some of Moxxie's White Alphas.
I've also added some sequins randomly and a bit of bakers twin behind my work Lucky and stapled the ends down with some green staples.
Then here I layered a clover on top of kraft clover and centered them with a button flair.
Have a great St. Patrick's Day!

Layout {my friend, MY SISTER}

Good morning! How are you doing today? Good, I hope! I have such a cute layout to share with you using Bella Blvd's Family Forever & Tiny Tot's collections.
These two girls have been such good friends from day one. I love how adorable they are! These pictures were from 8 years ago! Just hanging out and having fun at Nanny's (Grandma's) house.
I started out with a base and then for the next layer I rounded out the edges using a punch. I layered a few strips towards the top. I also used a Martha Stewart punch for the top of the yellow-ish piece of cardstock where I did my title.
My favorite part is the cute banner I was able to create using the Bella Blvd.'s crotchet hearts and some black twine. Love all the beautiful colors!
Hope you enjoyed!

Moxxie {Unique & Blog Hop}

It's time for another fun Moxxie Blog Hop and giveaway! Details on how to enter at the end of my post. First, let me share with you a layout using Moxxie's new line Tiny Dancer!

It's so much fun watching my daughters perform. Senedra this year chose to do a dance class and has loved it! They got a chance to perform at a basketball games half time. The song they performed to was Unique by Lenka. Such a cute song and the reason for the title of the layout.
I used quite a few strips of designer paper and barcode strips, behind the main colored pictured of my daughter. Also did some distressing around the edges on them. If you look closely you can see I've "popped" the picture up with some 3D-foam dots to make it more "pop" on the layout and because I hid journal card behind it.
Here's a picture of journal card in and out. You can see I added some little Imaginisce jewels along the top and bottom of the journal card and a little sticker from the sticker sheet to create the little tab. That way it would stand out a bit more from behind the picture. I love doing little hidden pockets like this occasionally on my layouts.
These cute banners are stickers that coordinate with this line and then I just adhered some sequins all over the layout to add a little sparkle to it.
I love these curlies that come on the sticker sheet! They are so cute.
I used Moxxie Alpha's for the title.
This tag I popped up for some more dimension with some more 3D-foam dots, sanded and distressed the edges and added some black brads to an end.
I love how this layout turned out and all the different textured and dimension I was able to add with just the paper.
Thanks for stopping by! :)

Scrap It Girl {Selfie}

Good morning! and Happy March! He we are at the start of a new month, where does the time fly off to!? Well, with it being the beginning of the month it's time for Scrap It Girl's monthly challenge! This month we are focusing on SELFIES!! That's right, selfies! Now's the time to bust one of them out and print it! If you don't have one what a perfect excuse to take one! We always leave ourselves out of the scrapbooks, it's time to add a picture of you! Here's mine!
I did this layout last year and submitted it to Scrap n' Art Magazine. It was chosen to be published so I didn't get much of an opportunity to share it until now. I love how perfect this layout came out. Taking selfie's is really not my thing but I need to remember that someday my daughters or even grandchildren might want to see who I was. ;)
I started out with some wooden doilies. The more I looked at them the more I decided they could pass for snowflakes and started inking them up. I added foam dots the backs and tied some twine to make them look like they were hanging.
Here's a closer look.
Then on this one I wanted it flush with the picture so I cut it in half using an exact-o knife.
Now it's your turn! You have until March 31st to link up your fun Selfie layout over at Scrap It Girl! You'll also want to go check out the awesome prize and what the rest of the design team has to share!
Thanks for stopping by! :)

Nuts About Sketches {Amazingly Adorable}

Good morning! I have to apologize for being MIA this last week. I got hit with a horrible flu bug that laid me up all week! But I'm happy to report I'm on the mend!

This was my last sketch as a Nuts About Sketches design team member. I have to say it makes me a bit sad! I'm sure going to miss being on her team. But don't fret! It doesn't mean she won't do sketches any more, Shawn says she will still post new sketches periodically!
The sketch was so much fun! It had some great layers.
This little girl of mine is Amazingly Adorable! She has the sweetest personality! She is such a sweet and caring little girl. My base for this layout is a sheet of cardstock and then I started layering around the edges. I used some designer paper and cardstock for some of the layering but I also decided to use Washi tape. Washi tape comes in all different widths, so on some of them I lined them up the best I could and made them twice as wide. I did my faux stitching in different colors all around my layout to really add more color and interest to it. As for the title I just used some 3D foam dots to "pop" it up and make it stand out a bit more on the layout.
I love all two flair buttons I found, they just seemed perfect for this layout and I'm in LOVE with enamel dots! They are so cute and fun to play with! here's some close up's of all the washi tape and embellishments. Enjoy! :)
Don't forget to make a stop over at Nuts About Sketches to see the sketch and to see the teams last take on it! I promise you won't be disappointed! Great talent there. I loved working with such amazing women. :)
Thanks for stopping by! :)
